BLUE-ARMOR° blue-armor enamel inner tank

Ottmel water heater inner tanks feature Baosteel BTC340R enamel steel plates, double-layer U.S. Fluor blue-armor enamel, pre-coating cleaning and sandblasting, and pressure-tested resistance to high temperature, pressure, impact, corrosion and scaling.

Welding process

Ottmel water heater inner tanks adopt automated gas-shielded welding: top cover-cylinder joints are welded first then enameled, while bottom cover-cylinder joints are enameled first then welded, ensuring flawless welding and full seamless blue-armor coating coverage.

Dual-layer blue-armor coating

Ottmel inner tank coatings adopt Fluor’s proprietary blue-armor formula: fired at 870–950°C and recoated with enamel, the layer matches the steel cylinder’s thermal expansion coefficient to avoid cracking, resists three major water-induced corrosion types, and inhibits bacterial adhesion for hygienic water use.

Sandblasting treatment process

Ottmel inner tank walls are sandblasted for a dense, fine texture to boost coating adhesion; high-temperature firing creates a serrated interlocking bond, enhancing performance and extending the tank’s service life.

Inner tank testing

Designed in accordance with the highest European standards for pressurized inner tanks, it has passed corrosion-resistance testing in a sealed environment at 100°C for more than 200 hours with continuous calcium bicarbonate injection. The testing requirements are even more stringent than those of the WaterMark standard.

SPOILER-FLUE® high-efficiency turbulent heat exchange technology

The high-efficiency turbulent heat exchange piping system combines heat exchange and condensation functions; its heat exchange surface area is five times that of conventional flue tubes under equal conditions.

The material is a silicon-aluminum alloy, which not only enhances heat transfer efficiency but also provides corrosion resistance.

PRE-MIX® fully premixed combustion technology

NOₓ emissions < 30 mg (meeting regional standards); metal fiber surface combustion paired with triple-pass heat exchanger and high-efficiency turbulent heat exchange tech achieves 107% thermal efficiency.
